Q: What is the Gadget Blog Network?
A: It's a group of tech/gadget related bloggers who are listed with
BlogAds.com
Q: What is BlogAds.com? How much is it to join?
A: BlogAds.com is similar to Google Adsense or Adbrite. It's
a collection of influential bloggers who collaborate to promote and
sell blog advertising. Advertising firms come to them when they want
to advertise on blogs. If you are not already a member of BlogAds.com,
just log on and sign up. It's free to join both BlogAds.com and the
BlogAds.com Gadget Blog Network. You don't have to buy any ads
or shell out any money. The advertisers pay BlogAds.com and then
BlogAds.com pays you.
Q: What's the Gadget
Blog Network URL? Is there an order page?
A: Yes. Once you are a member of BlogAds.com, please make sure
your blog is listed on the BlogAds.com
Gadget Blog Network order page. If not,
let someone at MethodShop.com or BlogAds.com know.
Q: What's the Gadget
Network logo?
A: Here's the link to the default
blue Gadget Blog Network logo but you have a choice of several different
colors and two different sizes. The large logo is a 120 x 120 pixel
square box with a transparent background. The small logo is 120
x 90 pixels. Do you have the ability to upload images to your website?
Then download a ZIP logo
archive (large logos or small
logos) with
several different color variations of the logo (blue, green, orange,
pink, purple). For those of you without web storage space, you can
just link to any of the following images on the Gadget
Network flickr.com page. Once the logo is on your site, please link
it to our BlogAds.com

Q: I can't write HTML code.
How do I get the Gadget Blog Network logo and link on my blog?
A: You need to edit your blog template. Just copy
and paste any of these chunks of code into your template.
Q: How much more money will I make?
A: In theory, more than you are making now. People can still
buy advertising on your individual blog, but you will also get
advertising through our network. Creating a "gadget" blog
network wasn't totally an original idea. I heard that someone organized
a "food" network
comprised of food related blogs already registered with BlogAds.com.
So far, these food blogs have all gotten more advertising and increased
their earnings. I figured if the food bloggers are making more
money, we gadget/tech folks would too.
Q: What are the BlogAds.com
pay out rates?
A: Your
advertising rate for your blog is decided by you. In general, this
number is usually a mix of: traffic and
content quality. We recommend a 50-cent CPM (cost per thousand).
Some blogs are worth more but any CPM of under a buck is very
good for a quality audience. What you set your rate at is totally up
to you. However, if you set your fee too high and your traffic and content
doesn't match this prime rate, advertisers may ask to leave you out of
a Gadget Blog Network ad buy. Getting greedy and setting your day rate
at $10,000 a day doesn't mean you will get it. To give you a better
idea of rates, take a look at the Gadget
network order page. This lists the
1 week rates for all the different sites in our Gadget Network.
Q: When do I get paid?
A: All bloggers get paid on the first of the month
via PayPal.
Q: How would/will the payments be divided/distributed?
A: I don't work for BlogAds.com. I'm just a blogger like you.
BlogAds.com will pay you directly. I just got permission from the
executives at BlogAds to group several sites under the "BlogAds
Gadget Blog Network" and
let advertisers buy all the gadget/tech blogs at once instead of
manually selecting individual blogs one by one.
Q: Why should my blog join
this network?
A: Collectively we can attract more/better/bigger advertisers
who'd love to reach our "gadget" loving readers. Instead
of an advertiser trying to hand pick gadget related blogs to advertise
on, we can offer them a one stop shop where they can buy our entire
BlogAds Gadget Blog Network.
Q: Why will someone want
to buy ads in this network?
A: Because people like fast food, microwaves and calculators.
It's all about convenience. For example, let's say Sony wants to
advertise their new PSP on a bunch of blogs. Will someone from Sony
read through thousands of blog descriptions and hand pick 100 blogs,
or will they just buy the "Gadget
Blog Network"? Trust me, people are busy. If we can offer a niche
audience already gift wrapped for the advertiser, we can't lose.
Q: Can
I keep Google Adsense and the other advertisers already on my site.
A: Yes.
Q: What's the catch? Why
are you doing this?
A: There's no catch. It's free to join the BlogAds.com Gadget
Blog Network and advertisers will still be able to buy ads on your
site the same way that they do now. The only "catch" if there
is one is: 1) you have to display the Gadget
Blog Network logo on your blog
pages and 2) link to our Gadget
Blog Network order page. Why are we doing
this? All members of the network (including MethodShop.com) will
benefit financially from bigger and more frequent
advertisers. Also, don't forget that we are also making things easier
for the advertiser by grouping all our blogs together.
