McDonald’s Drive-Throughs Come To China

McDonald's Drive-Throughs Come To China 1BEIJING — McDonald’s is pairing with a Chinese partner in an alliance to build drive-through restaurants. They’re hoping to profit from soaring Chinese car ownership.

Under the agreement, McDonald’s and partner Sinopec will turn an unspecified number of about 30,000 gasoline stations into drive-throughs.

The companies declined to estimate the value of the deal. McDonald’s chief executive for China said there’s no numerical target for outlets to be built.

The alliance is aimed at capitalizing on the popularity of Western fast-food and a new car culture in China.

McDonald’s already has 760 restaurants in China.
