Sister Sues NBC in ‘Predator’ Suicide

Sister Sues NBC in 'Predator' Suicide 1The sister of suspected sexual predator who killed himself as authorities came knocking on his door in a Dallas suburb while a “Dateline NBC” camera crew watched from across the street filed a $105 million suit in United States District Court for the Southern District of New York Monday.

Patricia Conradt says NBC “steamrolled” police to go to the home of her brother, assistant county prosecutor Bill Conradt Jr., 57, after he failed to keep a date made with what he thought was a 13-year-old he was chatting up on line but who was an adult working with “Dateline” for an installment of its “To Catch a Predator” series.

Ms. Conradt’s suit charges NBC Universal is engaging in a pattern of racketeering by bribing police across the country to let it film confrontations with suspects it lures to a home where it has set up cameras with the activist group Perverted Justice.

“We plan to defend ourselves vigorously as we believe the claims in the suit to be completely without merit,” said Jenny Tartikoff, a spokeswoman for NBC Universal.
