    Nickelodeon goes dark for kids' health 1Nickelodeon is joining the fight against childhood obesity by encouraging kids to turn off the TV.
    On Sept. 29, the children’s network and its sister stations, including Nicktoons Network, Noggin and Nick G.A.S., will go dark from noon-3 p.m. in honor of the fourth annual Worldwide Day of Play.

    Nickelodeon will return to air with a “SpongeBob SquarePants” marathon followed by the half-hour season finale of the “Let’s Just Play Go Healthy Challenge,” which features two 13-year-olds, Kenderick from Arkansas and April from Pennsylvania, who, over the past six months, took the challenge to be more active and get healthier.
