Telemundo has acquired international distribution rights to “Dance, Dance, Dance,” the first high-definition telenovela from Brazilian network Bandeirantes.
Also, NBC Universal’s Telemundo said Tuesday at NATPE that it recently closed two deals with Television Nacional de Chile to adapt two of its formats in Russia. Under an agreement with Sony, the TVN drama series “Complices” will be adapted for Russia’s CTC network. The second deal is with Star Media for an adaptation of the telenovela “Amores de Mercado.”
Distribution arm Telemundo Internacional has inked a deal with Paris-based DTT channel NRJ 12 for the adaptation of “12 Corazones,” Telemundo’s popular dating show.
Telemundo Internacional head Marcos Santana said sales increased more than 30% last year thanks to the company’s strong presence in Europe and Asia. The Spanish-language broadcaster last year distributed about 35,500 hours of programming worldwide.
