All those lonely people sitting in their basements making podcasts are absolutely crazy – – and absolutely right. NBC News announced today that they will be joining the world of podcasting. Select portions of its network and cable news programming via podcast beginning next month.
Frank Radice and Jon Accarrino from NBC’s internal promotions and marketing group, The NBC Agency, are leading the podcast efforts at NBC News and the relationship with Apple. What’s the connection to marketing? The on-air commercials will be removed from the shows and replaced with promos before being distributed via podcast.
The initial selections of shows that will offer podcasts include the TODAY Show, NBC Nightly News and Meet The Press. Content from MSNBC and CNBC will follow soon after.
