Nobody wants to stand in line for Black Friday. If you are in a cold weather area, you want to find the best line for the overnight squat after your Thanksgiving dinner. But what store do you stand in front of for hours trying to stay warm just for that free MP3 player or LCD TV for $100?
Black Friday App
Black Friday 2011 – Smart Aisles
This is an in-store retail, deal and coupon aggregator service for smartphones. They provide aggregated deals from a number of sources including directly from the retailer. It details the products and even maps out the locations. Stores include Adidas, Best Buy, bebe, Chamion, Foot Locker, French Connection, GNC, GUESS, Macy’s, Natica, Sears, Sears Outlet, Target, Kmart, Finish Line, Kohls, Nordstrom, Skechers, Office Max, PUMA, Radio Shack, Sam’s Club, Sephora, The Body Shop, and Under Armour!
Black Friday Deals & Coupons
This application works with ratings. You can also share the deals on other networks like SMS, Twitter, Facebook and more.
If you don’t have a smartphone, you can go to their website to view all the deals. Then, when it’s time to go to the store, you have planned out your trip.
Amazon Price Checker
If you want to check your deals with Amazon, you might be able to buy your items for a cheaper price and before Friday. Simply scan bar codes and compare prices. You might not need to go out at all on Friday!
Shop Small: November 26 – Shop Locally on Saturday
Finally, there is an initiative to help the local retailers on this Black Friday weekend. Sponsored by American Express, on Saturday, go to your local retailers and purchase from there. If you check in through Foursquare and spend $25 or more, you can get a $25 reimbursement on your Amex card.
There are more deals out there. With a little bit of research, you could come away with some great purchases and, in some cases, not even leave the couch. But if you do go out at 2 in the morning to stand in line for that $100 laptop or tablet, remember to bundle up. Also pack those turkey sandwiches, liquids and lawn chairs, because you might get hungry and thirsty waiting for the store to open, and you definitely will want to keep from getting leg cramps for standing and walking all day to get your deal. Also remember, some stores are opening up earlier this year (some at Midnight). So plan well and you might be able to get more than one awesome deal this year.
