PortalPlayer, the Silicon Valley company whose chip powers the iPod, is looking to play its tune for Wall Street. The Santa Clara, California based company filed registration papers last week with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the first step toward an initial public offering.
PortalPlayer said it hoped to raise as much as $75 million. They did not say how many shares they expect to sell in the offering.
What do you think? Good stock buy? What if Apple decides to switch chipsets?
