Living in the Los Angeles area presents residents with a lot of opportunities to rub elbows with celebrities. But for those in the retail industry, that can be both a blessing and a curse. According to Wired, actress Melanie Griffith threw a celebrity hissy-fit in 2004 when she found out that the pink iPod mini was out of stock. The Working Girl (1988) and Bonfire of the Vanities (1990) star then verbally abused an Apple Store employee.

More Details From The Melanie Griffith iPod Mini Incident
The iPod mini has been a huge hit for Apple. But the pink iPod mini specifically has been in short supply since its debut. Griffith wasn’t happy when the Apple Store associate told her there were no pink minis in stock. After hearing the news, Griffith threw a tantrum in the store and took her frustrations out on the employee.
“She then proceeded to get pissed off at me personally because we didn’t have any in stock,” the associate said. “She said we have a special stock of iPods for people like her…. I hadn’t seen any celebrities there up until then, so at first I was like, ‘Oh wow, cool, Melanie Griffith.’ But then she opened her mouth and used me as a doormat, and I was like, ‘What the fuck is this shit?'”
Special Stock For Celebrities?
Does the Apple Store really have a “special stock of iPods for people like her”? People like her? What is that? Aging Hollywood starlets with too much plastic surgery? Hey Melanie Griffith, get in the back of the line with the rest of us. Everybody wants an iPod. Go make a decent movie and maybe Apple will issue a special edition Melanie Griffith iPod in your honor. You haven’t acted in anything decent since Mulholland Falls (1996).
