More changes are afoot at NBC, with studio drama chief Laura Lancaster looking to ankle.
Lancaster, who’s been senior VP of drama and cable programming at NBC U Television Studio since January 2006, has told her bosses she wants to leave the studio to take a gig heading drama development at Fox. Latter net needs to find someone to replace recently ankled drama development topper Ted Gold.
Before moving to Fox, Lancaster needs NBC to let her out of her deal, however, which could complicate the timing of her departure. If Lancaster does leave NBC, she’ll likely be replaced by drama VP Elisa Roth, who’s been at the studio since 2003.
Her expected exit comes in the wake of Katherine Pope’s elevation to prexy of the studio earlier this week. NBC U comedy chief Shelley McCrory is also ankling this week (Daily Variety, June 1).
