The Link Assistant SEO PowerSuite, a well-known collection of SEO tools, has been a popular choice for marketers for many years. However, the once-mighty software seems to have lost both its shine and its focus on their customers. In this SEO PowerSuite review, we will discuss its decline, look at some critical user feedback, and explain why this software suite is no longer a top choice for SEO experts.
What Is SEO PowerSuite?
SEO PowerSuite is a bundle of SEO apps that include Rank Tracker, SEO Spyglass, Link Assistant, and Website Auditor. Unlike many modern SEO tools, SEO PowerSuite is not cloud-based. Instead, users download these apps for Linux, Windows, and Mac to their computers and run the platform from there.
User Experiences: A Tale of Frustration with SEO PowerSuite
While SEO PowerSuite has had its moments of glory in the past, recent experiences and user feedback indicate a very different story. Let’s dissect the issues that have plagued this once-promising SEO software tool and turned many of their users against them.
Slow Desktop Software Without Cloud Integration
SEO PowerSuite’s reliance on desktop applications makes it considerably slower than cloud-based alternatives like SEMrush or Ahrefs. Every time you open one of the SEO PowerSuite apps, it can take 10+ mins for the system to sync and run on your desktop.
“The apps are constantly updating themselves, and you have to wait every time you open them.”
G2.com reviewer
“The apps restart by themselves and dump the cache. Lots of pop up notices, and they stop you doing what you were doing. They really need to get their head out of the sand and make their product work a little better.”
John, Softwareadvice.com
It is very discouraging. The app has to be installed and is not on the cloud, which falls of their competition.
Capterra.com User
Having to wait extended periods of time whenever you open an SEO PowerSuite app can be a major productivity killer. Personally, I would get bored waiting for their desktop apps to run their numerous updates. It was faster to get my SEO work done using an SEO PowerSuite alternative, like Ahrefs, before PowerSuite even finished updating itself.
Questionable Data Accuracy
A crucial aspect of any SEO tool is the accuracy of its data. SEO PowerSuite has faced a lot of criticism for providing less reliable audit and backlink information compared to competitors like Ahrefs or SEMrush.
Yes, if I paid for something, then I need that access and details from that software. But SEO Power Suite does not give proper results.
Subhanshu (Software Advice)
“This software does not provide accurate audit or spy results AT ALL. If you use other software like AHREFS, SEMrush, etc. and compare their audit and spy results, they are similar, but way beyond what SEOPowersuite can do. Very poor audit, very poor backlinks spy, very, very poor content audit.”

The results were too limited. Had I known I would not have downloaded it.”

An Outdated User Interface That’s Hard To Use
A dated and uninviting user interface is another major complaint mentioned by users in their SEO PowerSuite reviews. The software is difficult to navigate and understand exactly how PowerSuite’s tools work.
“The UI totally sucks. It’s terrible to find out how their tools work and they all look like they were developed in 2001 and haven’t had any user-friendly update ever since. A total waste of my money.”
Nathan V. (Capterra review)
“It’s slow, it’s not in a cloud, it’s UX is still from the 2010. Compared to other top KW research/rank tracking/optimizing tools it just lacks behind on every area and for the price it’s just not worth it anymore.”

Deceptive Licensing Practices: Aggressive Auto-Renewals That Are Hard To Cancel And A No Refund Policy
While slow software and an outdated user interface can be forgiven, questionable business practices is another story. Numerous users online have voiced concerns about SEO PowerSuite’s deceptive licensing practices.
The owners of SEO PowerSuite, Link-Assistant.com, make it very difficult to log in and check the status of your account. They do not provide an SEO PowerSuite login option on their website. So, there’s no easy way to login from your phone and see the status of your account. And if your subscription auto-renews, they won’t give you a refund. As a result, several users mention that they feel like Link-Assistant.com has “stolen” from them. Your only option is to file a complaint with your payment provider, like your credit card company or Paypal.
“Feel scammed… in a really terrible way: They tell you they have no refunds… and support says you should’ve known better.”
Raúl (G2.com)
“There is not a way to sign in to your account on their website to see when your license renews–in fact, the only way to view your subscription is by going to a different site altogether–and they said that they sent out a notification a week ahead of renewal, but I never received it. There is no reason why they can’t give a refund because all they need to do is make the new licenses invalid as if they expired. Stay away; this company blatantly steals from their customers.”
Sam D. (verified LinkedIn review)
“Cons: The deceptive subscription model and the fine print.”
Sam (LinkedIn user)
“I requested SEO PowerSuite support to turn off auto-renew, and they acknowledge it. Now they have openly charged my card, ignoring my initial request, and refusing to give my money back. I received no warning email ahead of this except for an email that they charged my card. They have openly stolen from me and refuse to return any funds. They claim innocence. This is a serious criminal issue that needs to be dealt with. Buyer beware!”

Hidden Fees & Shady Marketing Tactics
Hidden monthly fees were another common complaint among unsatisfied SEO PowerUser customers. After the first 6 months, SEO PowerSuite’s apps stop working until users pay $30 more per month for algorithm updates. Users expect transparency regarding costs, and SEO PowerSuite falls short here. If customers knew what the actual SEO PowerSuite price was after all the hidden fees, they might choose a different SEO tool.
“SEO PowerSuite is advertised as being a one-time-fee product, but this is NOT true. The price you pay to buy the software is for 6 months only! After 6 months, you still own the software, but it stops working. They claim that it’s because algorithms don’t update, but I believe the software is designed to stop working to force users to pay $30 per month to continue using the product. The company is not honest when advertising the product. Very disappointing!”
User (SoftwareAdvice)
“Misleading! Have to pay a monthly fee for updates after the first 6 months. I get that the developers need to get paid for their work in providing these updates but tell us that upfront and make the monthly fees more affordable for those who don’t use the apps all that often.”
Anonymous (SoftwareAdvice.com)
“Didn’t make it clear that it was automatically renewed every month with purchase. It was falsely marketed.”
David T. (Capterra review)
One of the biggest complaints about the platform is the SEO PowerSuite price after their hidden fees. You will end up paying a lot more than you think. -- SEO PowerSuite Review Share on X“All tools are literally useless after 6 months unless you subscribe for Algo updates.”

SEO PowerSuite Review: Is SEO PowerSuite Any Good?
Yes, this SEOPowerSuite review was very critical. But for good reason. SEO PowerSuite has a lot of unhappy customers. After reviewing a large collection of SEO PowerSuite complaints, we were able to categorize them into the following general themes:
- Slow & Outdated Software: A general lack of user-friendliness is a common complaint. The software’s slowness and outdated feel are commonly discussed concerns in online SEO PowerSuite reviews.
- Questionable Data Accuracy: Slow software is almost forgivable if the results are good. However, that seems to not be the case. Many users question the accuracy of SEO PowerSuite data.
- Customer Support Woes: Many have reported difficulties in reaching out to SEOPowerSuite support or canceling subscriptions, leaving them feeling scammed.
- Hard To Cancel Subscriptions & Hidden Fees: Aggressive auto-renewals without a refund option have left customers frustrated and feeling they were unfairly charged. The lack of transparency in pricing and billing is also a major turn-off for users. Even if it’s in the fine print, the software has too many hidden fees.
- False Marketing Claims: Users felt misled by marketing claims that make the software look more affordable than it really is.
Can Link-Assistant’s SEO PowerSuite reclaim its lost glory and meet the evolving needs of SEO experts and digital marketers? TBD. The platform seems to have lost its charm due to issues with speed, licensing, data accuracy, and hidden fees. The company needs to shift its focus back to the needs of its customers if they want to win them back.
All software has its pros and cons, but SEO PowerSuite sucks. But don’t take our word for it. Carefully read the SEO PowerSuite reviews online for yourself. Bottom line: Buyer beware.
