Smart Speakers

Smart speakers are devices with both a speaker and microphone that are capable of voice interaction and some home automation tasks. What makes the devices “smart” is the virtual assistant integrated into the device that can be activated when a user speaks a “hot word” or phrase for that particular manufacturer. Some examples include “Alexa” or “Hey Google“. In addition to basic information retrieval from the Internet (music streams, news, sports, traffic, business hours, addresses), most smart speakers can communicate with other devices (phone calls, audio messages, text messages) or even control home automation devices (lights, alarm systems).
