To capture the 12K by 8K aerial footage of the Manhattan skyline, Holland used a new SHOTOVER K1 HAMMERHEAD Aerial Camera Array with 3X RED Weapon Monstro 8K VV cameras. The resulting video, which he posted on YouTube, is titled “Above NYC: Filmed in 12k”. Turn up the quality on your YouTube player and watch full screen to get the best experience possible while viewing in this compressed format.
12k vs HD
How does this 12k New York City Flyover video compare to the HD quality Netflix videos you’re probably watching at home? The 12k video is 48.5 times the resolution of HD 1080p. It’s like comparing the size of an ant to an elephant. And the depth of the captured detail is so incredible that you will start to question reality. It’s so sharp, it’s nothing short of spectacular.
