What are your thoughts on TSA airport security screenings that have been such a hot topic in the past few weeks? Personally, I can’t see what the fuss around airport TSA body scans is all about.
TSA Body Scans Show Very Limited “Nudity”
There’s been a lot of controversy about nudity and privacy around the new TSA full body scans. If you’re curious about what the TSA body scanners show, it’s not much. The body scans conducted by the TSA hardly resemble nudity. The TSA body scan pictures are just black and white images.
And if you think there’s something erotic or sexy about these photos, then there’s something wrong with you. You can search the internet for “TSA body scans leaked” to see more of these photos and I doubt you will find anything scandalous.
Low Radiation Doses
Another major concern is the airport body scan radiation dose. But airport body scan technology is relatively safe. The radiation emitted is far less than what you are exposed to during your flight at 30,000 feet. Regardless, an extra radiation dose from an airport body scan while pregnant is probably something that you don’t want to risk. Just tell the agent that you’d rather have a pat down, instead of walking through the airport body scan machine.
Groping By TSA Agents After A Body Scan
If you enter a body scanner with something in your pocket, a TSA Agent will need to pat you down after the scan. I’ve been patted down before, and it wasn’t that bad. The agents might touch near your private areas, but who cares? A small pat down is a small price to pay if it helps prevent terrorism or something catastrophic from happening.
And if you do get selected for a pat down, you have the right to request either a male or female agent.
A Humorous TSA Body Scan Video
Wherever you fall in the debate, I think you’ll be able to enjoy this humorous take on the new TSA screening procedures from Next Media Animation. There’s just something hilarious about watching current events get animated in a style like The Sims video games.
