Here’s a tip for stars on the rise: If you’re gonna do overexposure, do it right.
Not since Betty White’s comeback has anyone nailed the art of omniscience in entertainment quite like overnight sensation Antoine Dodson. I’d sworn off Dodson posts so as to protect this elegant symbol of chivalry from media saturation, but seeing as how he’s begging to be saturated, I’ll direct your attention to his latest venture: a holiday-themed take on his classic “Bed Intruder” song. It was featured on the George Lopez show, so I’m placing blame on George for this disastrous remix, the aptly named “Chimney Intruder” song.
From eyewitness to pop star of sorts, Dodson has ridden out a whirlwind few months (stretching those 15 minutes for all they’re worth) hopping from red carpet to red carpet, BET Hip-Hop Awards stage to YouTube Hall of Fame.
The song is a hot mess — it’s an unfortunate insult to the genius the Gregory Brothers, masterminds behind Autotune The News and the original Bed Intruder song — but Antoine does look cute shakin’ his thang with that Santa hat on. (Though there’s an awful lot of Santas with attitude this year.)
2011 will be Dodson-free, I promise. I think.
