CSI is one of the most popular American TV show franchises in history. But can the excitement and popularity of this CBS TV show make a good video game? We were skeptical but decided to give CSI: 3 Dimensions Of Murder a try.
In CSI: 3 Dimensions Of Murder, you work alongside the Las Vegas TV cast and help them solve intense cases and investigate crimes using cutting-edge techniques and real-world forensic equipment. Just like in the CSI TV show, you visit the scene of a crime, interview suspects and collect and analyze physical evidence. But the video game also has you using puzzle-solving and interrogation skills to establish a relationship between the suspect, the victim and the crime scene.
Usually, video games based on TV shows or movies, suck. But CSI: 3 Dimensions Of Murder is particularly well done. The cases are fun, complicated, and full of the same kinds of plot twists and surprises that you would expect from the TV show. Graphics, writing, and voice acting are all first rate as well.
If you are a parent, take the “Mature” rating seriously. The game isn’t scary, just gory with lots of adult situations. There’s also a case where you have to take a sample of sexual fluid. Great gritty stuff for fans of the show, but not exactly appropriate for young kids.
In case you get stuck, here’s a walkthrough for each level of the game.
- Pictures of an Execution
- First Person Shooter
- Daddy’s Girl
- Rough Cut
- The Big White Lie
- Poor Mom, Rich Mom
NERD NOTE: CSI: 3 Dimensions Of Murder, like the previous CSI games, CSI Crime Scene Investigation, CSI Miami, and CSI Dark Motives, follows a distinct pattern of 5 cases, with the fifth case tying together the previous 4
