A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, the Galactic Empire hosted the fiercest ‘droids on the block and smartphones had so much potential. Well, Motorola just took a trip back in time and beyond the solar field only to return to 2010 with a mobile masterpiece: the Droid R2-D2. Cooler than a pepper mill, for sure.
As of this past Friday, you can geek out with the best of them. Complete with a custom wallpaper, ringtones, widgets, and trivia, the phone looks like C-3PO‘s best friend — and, oh my god, has a binoculars app that sounds so awesome. You may be mistaken for holding a thermal detonator, but hey, that’s awesome, too.
It’s $249 after the $100 rebate and a Verizon contract. Not cheap, but a fair price to pay to relive those Star Wars glory days.
