By now you’ve probably heard all the rumors about the iPad 3 coming out in a couple of weeks. According to top sources like John Paczkowski at All Things D, Apple picked “the first week in March to debut the successor to the iPad 2.”
Is Apple Releasing An iPad Mini?
But the new news is that Apple will also announce a smaller 7-inch sibling along with the iPad 3. An iPad Mini would be a perfect competitor to Amazon’s Kindle Fire. But as Killian Bell at CultOfMac points out, this would contradict Steve Jobs‘ belief that 7-inch tablets are just too small. And an iPad Mini would most likely already been in production before Steve Jobs passed away last year.
New Features In The iPad 3 And iPad Mini
So what should we expect as far as features in either of these rumored devices? If we had to guess, they both will probably have a much faster chip, an improved graphics processing unit, and an improved Retina Display. But beyond that? Who knows.
Where Will Apple Make The Rumored Announcement?
Whatever Apple announces in March, iPad big and or small, it will most likely take place at San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, their preferred location for big announcements.
