It can get pretty hot in Australia during the summer. In January 2009, temperatures broke 120 degrees for a solid week. It was so hot that wild koalas were begging people for water… something that’s never been seen before.

Koalas were photographed doing things like approaching cyclists taking a water break on the side of the road and walking into people’s houses looking for shade and water. One koala was so hot from the heatwave that he decided to take a bath in the water a family set out for him to drink. It’s pretty cute.
