In honor of Clint Eastwood’s birthday, May 31, 1930, let’s reminisce about one of the best movie quotes of all time, “There are two kinds of people…”, from the 1966 Spaghetti Western, The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly.
This Sergio Leone directed masterpiece is set during the American Civil War and follows three gunmen who set out to find a hidden fortune. The film stars, Clint Eastwood, (Blondie or The Man With No Name aka The Good), Lee Van Cleef (Angel Eyes aka The Bad), and Eli Wallach (Tuco aka The Ugly) and has plenty of memorable scenes. But one of the best quotes from The Good, The Bad And The Ugly takes place during the final duel.
“There are two kinds of people…”
As Tuco’s reluctant partner, Blondie has his own thoughts about humanity and says this memorable line from the film.
“You see, in this world, there are two kinds of people, my friend: those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig.”
