Do you hate your job? Do you daydream about creative ways to quit? This graphic designer was so unhappy with his job that he chose to inform the company he was quitting via a mockup of a Macintosh OS X application alert.

Why Did He Quit?
Assumetehposition, a former co-worker of the guy who quit, submitted the screengrab to Reddit and posted the following explanation in the comments thread.
“He believed he was in a temp-to-hire position, and after three months of extra hours and butt-kissing turns out it’s just a temp position. He was a good worker too. I’d have recommended him. Too bad he burned his bridges… Obviously, he had contemplated quitting long enough to make this thing but still refused to speak to anyone about his feelings. Ironically, he complained about the ‘divas’ at his last job.”
Did He Go Too Far?
What do you think? Diva designer? Passive-aggressive? Regardless of what really happened, we still think it’s a pretty clever way to quit a job.

Brilliant in execution – Glorious even.
Not so great a way to get a reference.
The price of a good recommendation is NEVER telling your boss what an SoB you think they are – before, during or after quitting. This is simply because your new boss will likely given them a call at some point.
This is of course – WHY it is glorious. Clearly the reference wasn't worth holding in the poison any longer.
It beats burning down the building or putting stricnine in the guacamole…

This belongs on Passive Agressive Notes. Yea – too bad he burned his bridges!

It might not be the smartest way of giving a zero-weeks notice at work, but you’ve gotta give this guy some credit for doing extra work and making a custom Mac OS X app just for the purpose of quitting.

Without knowing the exact circumstances of his employ, it's hard to say if this choice of departure is really that bad or not. At the very least he was a designer with a sense of humour and not afraid to shoot from the hip. Kudos.

How good a designer could he have been? The top sentence is in the wrong font.

He probably found a place where he'll be appreciated. Company's loss. Maybe they'll treat their next designer better.
