According to a recent Nielson study, 1 in 5 U.S. phone households will rely on solely on their mobile phones for telecommunications by the end of 2008. Cord Cutting or getting rid of a hard wired phone line is just one way consumers are cutting back to make ends meet in this troubled economy.
Who are most likely to be “cord cutters?” The study says that the average U.S. cord cutter tends to have a lower income, live in apartment or condo (1 or 2 residents) and tends to make the transition to living without a landline after a move or a job change.
