The Whisper film has all the elements of a classic scary movie scene, just with Alexa as the co-star. Alexa is the emotionless artificial intelligence in this film that fails to warn her owner of danger.
Between Siri and Alexa, these eavesdropping voice assistants are now permanently part of our lives. Although usually very helpful, they have generated their fair share of bad press when it comes to privacy. In May 2018, an Amazon Echo inadvertently recorded a conversation between a Portland couple. It then decided to mail the recording to a random person in their Amazon address book. And Apple has repeatedly been under fire from the US government about privacy issues with Siri and the iPhone.
How To Enable Alexa Whisper Mode
If both the scary Alexa film and Alexa privacy concerns mentioned in this article have failed to freak you out, then try enabling Alexa Whisper Mode. Once in whisper mode, if you whisper to Alexa, she will whisper her response back to you. You can put your Alexa into “whisper mode” by saying: “Alexa, turn on whisper mode.”
After you enable whisper mode, then whisper this to Alexa: “Alexa, what does 666 mean?” Are you freaked out now?
