The next movie installment of the Planet of the Apes prequel series, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, is slated for a July 2014 release and has the humans and apes going to war with each other.
As we learn in the trailer, half of the human population has been wiped out by a Simian Flu. Human survivors are reduced to savaging and living in ruins while the apes begin to thrive in the forest.
Both Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) and its predecessor Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), are prequels to the original Planet of the Apes (1968) film that starred Charlton Heston as an astronaut who crash-lands on Earth in the future and discovers a world inhabited and ruled by intelligent apes.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes stars Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight, Harry Potter), Keri Russell (Felicity, The Americans), Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings), and Jason Clarke (Terminator Genisys, Zero Dark Thirty).
I’m a huge fan of all of the Planet of the Apes films and really looking forward to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. What about you? Did you prefer the original series of film over the new ones? Tell us about it in the comments below.
