Need a reason to convince your friends or family to buy you an iPod? Then tell them it’s for educational purposes. That’s right, the iPod isn’t just for holding your massive John Tesh box set collection anymore. Apple has started providing free online educational content in the iTunes Music Store.

You can download everything from the 9-11 Commission Hearings and Political Convention Speeches to Apple’s Quarterly Stock reports. The best part is, it’s all free! Maybe someday Apple will expand this material and provide content like famous speeches by Martin Luther King and J.F.K. Get ready to Rip, Mix and Learn.
