La Quinta Inns & Suites is introducing a new feature called LQ-Instant Hold that allows guests to reserve and hold a room for up to four hours using only their mobile phone number. This service is unique in the hotel industry and will make reservation processes much easier for guests.
How LQ-Instant Hold Helps Busy Business Travelers
Catering to their business traveler audience, La Quinta hopes LQ-Instant Hold will provide fast and hassle-free booking. The new feature enables busy hotel guests to make a reservation without having to provide a lengthy credit card entry or address while on the go.
According to La Quinta’s research, 77% of users make same-day reservations or check for availability before arriving as a walk-in. LQ-Instant Hold allows guests to book a last minute room without having to enter credit card information on their mobile phones.
“We have found that when people are on their mobile phones it’s difficult to book a room and input credit card information when on the go, the fat-thumb problem if you will,” said Teresa Ferguson, director of communications and public relations at LQ Management.
While it may appear risky that individuals could hold a room and then abandon the reservation since payment was never processed, La Quinta bets on its fast and convenient booking options to show travelers that their hectic lifestyles are being catered to.
LQ-InstantHold is available on both La Quinta’s new smartphone app as well as their mobile website.
La Quinta’s Mobile Web App Features
LQ-Instant Hold is just one of the many helpful features available in the La Quinta app and website. Other features include interactive maps, enhanced driving directions, ratings from TripAdvisor, access to local restaurants and attraction information from Yelp, special packages, weekend deals, destination guides, and options for La Quinta Rewards members to redeem points for gift cards and certificates.
The La Quinta app is free and available through the iTunes Store for iPhone and Google Play for Android.
