Fresh off her critically acclaimed turn in the indie feature “Year of the Dog,” Molly Shannon has signed on to star in a quirky new Lifetime movie.
“More of Me” will star the “Saturday Night Live” alum as a woman juggling her roles at home and work — until one day she splits into three different versions of herself, taking on different aspects of her life.
Comedy pic, which comes from Jaffe/Braunstein Films and Andrea Simon Entertainment, is set to bow on the net in the fall.
“We’re always seeking to infuse our original movies with a variety of genres and we know our loyal audience always enjoys smart, relatable and contemporary comedies,” said Lifetime original movies senior VP Libby Beers. “Molly Shannon is a genuine movie and television star, and both her unique physical and comedic acting skills make her ideal for this role.”
Shannon is currently onscreen in the feature “Evan Almighty” and will star in the upcoming “Shut Up & Sing.” Other feature credits include “Talladega Nights,” “Superstar,” “Never Been Kissed” and “Analyze This.”
Thesp was a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” from 1995-2001.
Daisy von Scherler Mayer (“Party Girl”) is aboard to helm “More of Me,” which was written by Kelli Pryor. Howard Braunstein, Michael Jaffe and Andrea Simon are exec producers.
