Please say hello to the latest MethodShop Superfan… Collin.
We skimmed your Facebook profile. You have some eccentric tastes in music. True or False: Men Without Hats is the greatest band of all time.
True.
Do you know why you were chosen to be the MethodShop Superfan?
My guess would have something to do with my love of greek salads.
Over the last 15 years, you’ve contributed several articles to MethodShop. What articles did you write and how does it feel to be part of our history?
It’s an honor. I wrote a bunch of articles like How To Remove Scratches From Your iPod, Audio Hijack Tutorial, NiceCast Tutorial, How To Upgrade Your iBook, Mack Out Your Mac, Geocaching Tutorial and a Shure EC3 Earbuds review.
What some of your favorite articles on MethodShop.com?
The one with the girl in the shower with the waterproof iPod case is a memorable one.
Got any topic suggestions for our writers?
How to throw a house party where people can get the most usage out of your techy gear.
How many portable music players have you owned throughout the years?
iPod Shuffle (lost on a basketball court in Red Bank, NJ), iPod Nano (left in my gym clothes and got stuck in washing machine), Sony Walkman (still have it, works), Bose FM/AM mini radio (love this thing, was like the size of an iPod Shuffle 2 years before the Shuffle came out), and an iPhone.
What do you think about the iPad? Is it a game changer?
Total game changer. A lot of people are upset that the iPad doesn’t have a camera. However, the lack of a camera is a non-issue to me. If I need a camera, I have my iPhone. The DJ app pretty much revolutionizes music playback for the average Joe.
You’re a graphic/motion designer for a major broadcast and cable sports property. What’s your hardware setup and what software do you use on a daily basis?
Mac Pro 3+ghz with 12GB of RAM, Adobe Suite, Cinema 4D and VMware just in case I need to run the Windows OS.
If David Hasselhoff and Wilfred Brimley got into a fist fight, who would win?
The public, if caught on tape.
Tell us something about yourself that your friends reading this right now won’t already know.
In 1995, I had free Dr. Peppers because I could tilt back the bottles (soda used to be sold in glass bottles not plastic) to see the under the cap game to “Win a Free Dr Pepper.” I reapplied and documented this childhood talent years later for MethodShop’s Hacking the iTunes Pepsi Giveaway article.
