Apparently Bono and Steve Jobs just broke up. It seems like just yesterday, Bono was on stage with Jobs announcing the special edition U2 iPod. But U2 has decided to move away from Apple and lend their name to Research in Motion‘s BlackBerry phone.
In a recent conversation with Toronto radio DJ Alan Cross, Bono revealed that U2 had approached Apple to provide input on designing products but had been rejected. This rejection lead the band to switch to RIM where they could have more influence on final products.
[RIM] is going to give us what Apple wouldn’t — access to their labs and their people so we can do something really spectacular. ~ Bono
