A Closer Look at the new iPod Touch, iPod Shuffle, iPod Nano and EarPods (2012)

Although the iPhone 5 hogged the spotlight yesterday, Apple announced some other things including an update to iTunes, new earbuds, and new iPods. Here’s a quick rundown of the things that got overlooked yesterday:

iPod Nano

The latest iPod Nano is now better than ever with its 7 vibrant color options. A large 2.5-inch touch screen takes center stage in a compact design that measures only 5.4 millimeters in thickness. This 7th generation Nano also features the new and smaller Lightning connector, making charging and syncing your device even more convenient. It also has Bluetooth, FM radio, a pedometer, Nike+ support, and a 30-hour battery life.

iPod Touch

Like the new iPhone, the updated iPod Touch (5th generation) is longer and thinner with a 4-inch Retina display screen — and Siri voice commands. It will use the A5 chip. The battery can run 40 hours of music or 8 hours of video before it needs to be recharged. The iPod Touch also includes a 5 megapixel iSight camera with LED flash — and can create panorama shots. The camera can shoot 1080p HD video.

iPod Shuffle

The new version of the smallest iPod, the iPod Shuffle, keeps its square shape with buttons and a clip. The latest iPod shuffle, which has a 2 GB storage capacity and a staggering 15-hour battery life, comes in 7 different colors and still boasts VoiceOver technology.

EarPods

Apple’s including re-designed ear buds, called EarPods, that can also be bought separately for $29.
