It Never Stops!
Perpetual motion has fascinated humanity ever since the early days of crude machines. Designing a true perpetual motion machine takes a lot of engineering and advanced design. One of my personal favorites is the Swinging Sticks that was featured in the film Iron Man. But the Solarbotics Perpetual Motion Marble Kit gets a little help from the sun. Once built, the kit will collect energy from its solar cell. Once powered, it then turns the gear wheel notch by notch and moves the marble back to the top so it can spin down the slide again. If you are in bright sunlight, the pulses will cause a ball to drop every minute (less if you are using indoor light).
Assembly Required
This is a “kit” and some effort is required to assemble. The Solarbotics Perpetual Motion Marble Kit isn’t a LEGO set. You will need tools including solder, a soldering gun, glue, screwdriver, knife, and pliers.
