This is one of those classic occurrences in life that just seem to go wrong even when the intentions were so honorable. A class of elementary students started a class project to make a plant pot to take home and wanted to have a plant in it that as easy to take care of, so it was decided to use cactus plants. But that decision would come back to haunt the teacher in a few weeks.

The Clown Plant Pot
The students were given green ware pottery in the style of a clown plant pot and they painted them with glaze and had them professionally fired at a class outing so they could see the process. It was great fun!!
An Innocent Project Turns X-Rated
They planted the cactus seeds in the finished planters and they grew nicely. But an innocent clown plant pot wasn’t so innocent anymore with a phallic cactus protruding out of it. Unfortunately the students were not allowed to take their creations home. The cactus plants were removed and a small ivy plant replaced them.
The teacher said cactus seemed like a good idea at the time.
