Sad news frackers. The Human-Cylon war is almost over. The Sci-Fi Channel is only hours away from airing the Battlestar Galactica series finale.
From the beginning, Battlestar Galactica was an immediate hit with TV viewers. Unlike most TV shows in the sci-fi genre, Battlestar Galactica was as much about outer-space robots as it was to be human. Everything from betrayal, morality, justice, faith, vengeance and forgiveness have all played out over the 4 seasons of the series (2003-2009). Part of what made the reboot of the original 1970s TV series so gripping, was how the writers overlaid the scripts with post-September 11th themes. The movie quality special effects and sexy Cylons didn’t hurt either.
Battlestar Galactica Series Finale Air Dates
The 1st hour of the 3-hour series finale starts tonight at 10 ET/PT on NBC Universal‘s Sci Fi Channel. The 2-hour finish airs next Friday (March 13 and March 20, 2009). The Battlestar Galactica series finale is expected to pull in big ratings. Averaging around 2.4 million viewers per episode, Battlestar Galactica has been one of the bright spots for the Sci Fi Channel.
An Overview Of “Daybreak”, The Battlestar Galactica Series Finale Episodes

SPOILER ALERT: “Daybreak” is the final episode of Battlestar Galactica. The (3) part episode arch is 141 minutes long and follows the crew of the Galactica as they attempt to destroy the Cylon Resurrection Hub, which will prevent the Cylons from being able to bring back their dead. If the mission is successful, it will come at a great cost.
What’s Next For The Franchise After The Battlestar Galactica Series Finale?
According to the NBC Universal, “Daybreak”, the final episode of Battlestar Galactica will feature intense action, heart-wrenching moments, and a satisfying ending that should leave fans satisfied.
Just because the Battlestar Galactica Series Finale is here, doesn’t mean that Battlestar fans shouldn’t bang their heads against the wall in depression just yet. The show will live on in various forms.
A feature film, Sci Fi Channel prequel series, Caprica, a web series, and a TV movie, The Plan, are all in the works.
