Comedy Central, IMG and Ken Marino are sending up the world of sports radio talkshows.
Cabler has ordered a pilot presentation of “Out of Bounds,” a partially improvised laffer that will take a behind-the-scenes look at the genre, in the vein of workplace comedies “The Office” and “The Larry Sanders Show.”
IMG’s Barry Weintraub created the project and will supervise the production. Marino will pen the pilot, which will begin production early next year, and exec produce with Hillary Mandel.
In “Out of Bounds,” Marino, a “Reno 911!” alum who stars in and co-wrote 2007 Sundance pic “The Ten,” will portray one of the hosts of “Ball Talk,” a Long Island radio show, who has aspirations to get into bigger markets. Joe Lo Truglio will play his co-host.
