The first three episodes of ‘Earl’ next season will feature pics of the winners selected in the MySpace promotion.
“My Name Is Earl” is trolling MySpace for a few friends.
NBC and 20th Century Fox TV have partnered with the social networking hotspot to promote the soph season of “Earl” by selecting photos of users to appear at the end of three episodes.
The mugs will be flashed inside the vanity card for “My Name Is Earl” creator Greg Garcia’s production company, Amigos de Garcia.
Usually, the vanity card features one of Garcia’s pals wearing a fancy sombrero. But as part of the MySpace promotion, the first three episodes of “Earl” next season will feature pics of the winners (one each week) under the banner, “Friends of Earl.”
“Every friend’s picture I put at the end of the show has, in one way or another, helped me get to where I am today,” Garcia said. “That’s why I was excited about the idea of putting three ‘My Name Is Earl’ fans in my logo, because without the fans, we’re nothing.”
