The Koreas — or “the Chinas,” as beauty queen Alicia Machado likes to say — are at the brink of war. Tensions between North Korea and South Korea have never been higher. So it seems like a fitting time to see what’s shakin’ with Kim Jong-Il. Lo and behold, the UK’s Mirror (take it with a grain of salt) claims that the “Supreme Leader” is busy not mulling over war games, but looking at … (wait for it) … soy sauce.

‘Kim Jong-Il Looking at Things’ Tumblr Account
Seeing a nation’s leader looking at bottles of soy sauce during a crisis was fascinating to me. It made me wonder what else the man looks at when times are tough. Which led me to my new favorite Tumblr account: Kim Jong-Il Looking at Things. The captions on this social media blogging site are simple — “looking at crackers” or “looking at buckets” or “looking over there” — yet somehow so compelling. Thank you, Tumblr, for serving as my new tried and true cyber black hole. Too bad this Tumblr account didn’t exist when the film Team America was released.
Wait, What Exactly Is Tumblr?
In the vein of “How To Explain Twitter to Your Grandma,” suffice it to say that Tumblr is a free, easy-to-use microblogging social network that, in my opinion, is just plain prettier than the alternatives. I suggest browsing the Tumblr blog called SRS Funny as well. Time well spent.
