Princess: Trey Parker And Matt Stone’s Unreleased X-Rated Cartoon

Back in 1999, before the Internet bubble had burst, the popular entertainment website Shockwave needed some big-name talent to create original content. So they handed a $2 million dollars to(Amazon link) South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and gave them full creative control to make an original Internet cartoon.

The final result was an X-rated cartoon called Princess that was never released. Perhaps giving Parker and Stone, the creators of(Amazon link) Cannibal The Musical,(Amazon link) Orgazmo, and(Amazon link) Team America, wasn’t such a good idea. TRIO interviewed Matt Stone, Trey Parker and some of the former executives at Shockwave and created an original documentary about the incident called Shocked.

Shocked is TRIO’s original documentary about how South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone were commissioned to create an original Internet cartoon series during the dot.com age. In 1999, burgeoning online entertainment company Shockwave, on the verge of going public, commissioned high profile talent to supply their site with content.

The company sought out Parker and Stone and promised them full creative control to create 39 original animated shorts. The result was “Princess.” Drawn in the style of a pre-school children’s cartoon, “Princess” is about a lap dog who observes the adult, sometimes very “adult” world, around her. The sexual content was so extreme that production on the “webisodes” was halted early on and have never been seen in any medium.
