1) First off, is the screen of your iPod or iPhone cracked? If so, there's nothing you can do at home to fix it. You need to either have Apple replace the device or send it out to a repair specialist. If your warranty has expired for for iPod or iPhone, then try our VIP iPod Repair Service.

2) But if the screen isn't shattered, then there's hope. Let's try a simple reset with the iPod. If your iPod has no juice,
you may have to attach it to a power source to make this work.
3) Is there a weird folder icon or sad face on your iPod? If so there check out our iPod Icon 101 article.
4) Was
someone messing around with the Contrast settings? If so, the
Contrast may be set so low that
you can't see the information on the iPod's screen. The only way
to reset your iPod back to the factory defaults (including the
Contrast setting) is to let the battery drain all the way out.
Do whatever it takes to let the battery die then let the iPod
sit overnight to be safe. Then the next morning, charge
the battery and turn the iPod on. The first thing you should
see is a screen asking you to select your language. If you can
see your screen now, congratulations, this did the trick. If not,
you probably need a new screen.
