First released back in 1992, Super Mario Kart was the debut of the series. It was an instant hit and went on to be one of the best selling games for the on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) console. Since 1992, the Mario Kart franchise has spawned a full library of titles including Mario Kart, Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart 8, Mario Kart DS, Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart: Double Dash, and Mario Kart: Super Circuit.
