How to Charge an iPod with an Onion
Want to test it out for yourself? Here’s what you need to do.
- Put two holes on either side of your onion with screwdriver.
- Soak the onion in Gatorade until most is gone (about 1 cup worth).
- Use the iPod USB cable and push in the USB connector into the onion.
According to the video, your iPod will turn on and charge shortly there. So for about 1 cup of Gatorade will get you about 30 minutes of charge time.
Can a Gatorade soaked onion really charge an iPod?
We tried. We couldn’t get it to work. And after searching online we found out we weren’t the only ones having trouble. ABC News tested the onion trick and declared it a fake. Looks like it was all just a hoax. Sorry guys, save your onions for making salsa.
