In November 2018, KSL Podcasts launched a new series called ‘COLD‘ that detailed the disappearance of Utah mother Susan Powell. The COLD podcast quickly rose to #1 in Apple Podcasts and has generated nearly 45 million total downloads since its debut. A little over two years later, COLD is far from done making headlines. It was announced today that COLD was just acquired in an exclusive distribution deal with Amazon Music and has also been optioned to be a TV series by PatMa Productions.

Amazon Music Is Now The Exclusive Distribution Partner For The COLD Podcast
COLD’s season 1 chart-topping success was impressive enough. Bringing in Amazon as a distribution partner will give the podcast an even bigger promotion and distribution platform.
“This is a groundbreaking partnership. Bringing together a locally produced podcast, which has already generated strong national interest, with the incredible strength of the Amazon Music brand will help deliver the power of these important stories to an even larger audience. We are humbled that a company like Amazon Music believes in our product and grateful for the commitment from their team.” said Tanya Vea, Senior Vice President, Bonneville International, Salt Lake City the parent organization of KSL.
Is A COLD TV Series Coming Soon?
Fans of the COLD podcast will be especially interested in the announcement of a possible TV series. KSL Podcasts announced that COLD Season 1 was optioned in 2020 for a TV series development deal with Nina Tassler and Denise Di Novi‘s PatMa Productions. Additional details on the TV deal were not available but COLD already has an IMDB page.
