Disney has sold 23.7 million TV shows and 2 million movies to date on iTunes, according President/CEO Bob Iger. Since last September, 92 million ad supported episodes have been requested on ABC.com. 91 million episodes have been initiated on DisneyChannel.com in the last year.
When questioned by an analyst about iTunes pricing for movies (priced lower than what DVDs sell for in stores, which is preventing more studios from jumping on board,) Iger claimed the revenue split the company receives from both windows is identical.
Maybe we’ll start seeing more movies offered on iTunes now.
