NBC Universal will launch an online destination Thursday to accompany its new 24/7 horror-themed cable channel, Chiller.
The site, located at www.horrorfest.chillertv.com, will launch in partnership with Lionsgate Home Entertainment’s “After Dark Horrorfest” and its media marketing company Initiative Interactive.
“Horrorfest” is the release of a seven-disc DVD set. Fans who log on to the site will find exclusive scenes and clips from all seven DVDs before they go on sale March 27th.
“This is a great example of a cross-media promotion that leverages both online and on-air in a single custom program,” said NBC Universal Cable senior vp emerging networks Dan Harrison.
The sponsorship will include online media and on-air promotion on the channel and website as well as additional promotions on Sci Fi Channel and the USA Network. All promotions will drive users to a custom-built video portal where they can sample exclusive video and other additional content from the films.
