Facebook did away with an mp3 sharing application for copyright reasons, one of the first new third party applications to be pulled. The application, called Audio, allowed users to upload MP3 files and share them with their friends–yup, that’s a recipe for copyright disaster. Audio had been created by a single developer, not an existing company.
Meanwhile the social networking site has doubled its ad rates since February, according to the Valleywag blog, upping sponsorship rates from $150,000 to $300,000.
