The wait is finally over for fans of the Friends TV show. After endless delays and rumors, the Friends cast is actually back for a very special Friends reunion episode.
The Friends reunion will be an HBO Max exclusive, so sign up or start calling your friends and family now for their passwords. HBO Max subscribers can stream Friends: The Reunion starting on May 27.
The Offical Friends Reunion Trailer
YouTube is full of fan-made Friends reunion trailers, but an official trailer wasn’t released until now. As you’ll see in the trailer, the Friends reunion reunites the iconic cast (Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, and David Schwimmer) in a recreated TV set of Monica and Rachel’s apartment. The reunion consists of a group interview, scene reenactments, surprise guests, and of course, lots of tears.
It is so much fun to see how strong of a bond that the Friends cast still has today. The show might have ended almost 20 years ago, but it looks like their off-air friendships are still strong as ever.
The Influence And Popularity Of Friends, Then And Now
In 1994, six twenty to thirty-something-year-old friends living in Manhattan captured our hearts. The NBC prime time series lasted ten years (1994-2004) and brought the lives of Ross Geller, Monica Geller, Rachel Green, Joey Tribbiani, Chandler Bing, and Phoebe Buffay into our homes every Thursday night.
The show was an instant success. Not only was Friends one of the most popular TV shows of all time, but everything related to Friends, from Rachel’s haircut to its catchy “I’ll Be There For You” theme song, became huge hits.
During it run, Friends was nominated for 62 Primetime Emmy Awards, and won the Outstanding Comedy Series award for its eighth season in 2002.
Friends was adored by million of fans while it was still on the air, but surprisingly, Friends still continues to gain new fans decades later. When Friends was licensed by Netflix, it quickly became of the most popular shows on the platform. As its original older fan base started binge-watching Friends on Netflix, they brought their kids with them creating a whole new generation of fans for the series.
