Between their Keith Olbermann problems and some shakeups in management, 2012 has been a rough year so far for Current TV. Unfortunately, it looks like all these diversions have resulted in a neglected social media program. We recently got an automated email informing us that our @methodshop “Twitter friend Current TV,” just got around to joining Pinterest.
The photo-based social network, Pinterest, exploded the last half of 2011 and quickly became the 3rd biggest social network behind Facebook and Twitter. In January 2012, comScore reported that Pinterest.com had 11.7 million unique users, making it the fastest site in history to break through the 10 million unique visitor mark. That’s right, Current TV, a “thought leader” in cable TV news just got around to joining the 3rd largest social media network on earth 2.5 years after its launch. Better late than never?
Current TV Just Joined Pinterest
I know, I know. We’re definitely giving Current TV a hard time. Even adding “BREAKING NEWS” to the title of this blog post was very tongue-in-cheek. Please feel free to express yourself in the comments below.
