MSNBC will debut the four-part series “Future Earth” (FutureEarth.msnbc.com) on April 26, starting with “Journey to the End of the World.” The other three parts will be broadcast in the summer and fall.
“Journey’s” premiere coincides with NBC Universal’s Earth Week.
NBC News’ Lester Holt serves as narrator for the program, which is a co-production of MSNBC, France’s M4 and the Netherlands’ Off the Fence. It also will be released on DVD.
“This series represents a new direction for our documentary programming,” Michael Rubin, VP of MSNBC’s long-form unit, said in a statement, “as MSNBC, the place for politics, takes a documentary look at one of the most pressing issues of our time, global warming, and the problems that might come attached to it.”
