“Saturday Night Live” executive producer Lorne Michaels is losing a head writer and a star.
After nine years on “SNL,” Tina Fey has left to focus on her new sitcom, “30 Rock.”
Michaels has yet to replace Fey in the writers’ room even as the show heads into its 31st season in September. And he’ll also have to rethink “Weekend Update,” over which Fey co-presided with Amy Poehler.
“I think I’m out of the fake news business for a while,” said Fey.
Michaels said he has yet to settle on a new “Weekend Update” anchor or anchor team.
