5 Reasons Why The Polaire Air Conditioner Is An Internet Scam

Here are all of the reasons why you should NOT buy the Polaire air conditioner and why this personal cooling device is not a legitimate alternative to air conditioning.

If you’re an active social media user, then you’ve probably already seen ads for a personal cooling device called the Polaire. With claims of efficient cooling, low power consumption, and a leadership team of experienced air conditioning executives, the Polaire air conditioner is almost too good to be true. That’s because it is.

With the amount of advertising and marketing backing this product, the Polaire air conditioner is one of the more sophisticated internet scams we’ve seen online. Here are all the reasons why you should NOT buy the Get Polaire personal cooling device.

Polaire Is Just Reselling The Arctic Air Portable Evaporative Cooler

Get Polaire Is Just Reselling The Arctic Air Portable Evaporative Cooler - Get Polaire Scam
Get Polaire and Arctic Air are the same thing, crappy “portable air conditioning units” that don’t make cold air.

If you really want one, there’s nothing wrong with buying a cheap water-cooled swamp fan. But you can buy the exact same unit that Polaire sells for $50-100 cheaper elsewhere online. Take a look at these images of the Polaire air conditioner and the Artic Air portable air coolers. The only difference between them is that the image on the Polaire website erases the Arctic Air logo. Polaire is just selling the Arctic Air Ultra personal cooling device for 3-5x more money!?

Cheaper Alternatives To The Polaire Air Conditioner - Get Polaire Scam
Cheaper Alternatives To The Polaire Air Conditioner

The Polaire AC sells for $150 on their website. Even with their promotional 50% discount, buying a Polaire air conditioner for $78 is still much more than what other online retailers sell it for $17-20.

Polaire’s Marketing Is Misleading: The Polaire AC Is A Personal Cooling Device, NOT A Mini Air Conditioner

The marketing for Get Polaire is very misleading. They make repeated claims that their device can cool down a small room and that experienced air conditioning executives helped design this product.

Before you buy a “personal cooling device,” like the Polaire AC, just make sure that you realize this is NOT a portable air conditioning unit. You are basically just buying a mini swamp cooler, or more specifically, a fan that blows hot air through a wet piece of cardboard.

Watch the Polaire reviews as well as similar products like the Arctic Air (~$20-60) before you buy an “alternative to air conditioning” that isn’t actually a portable air conditioner. Amazon’s Polaire reviews will give you a good idea of how people feel about their purchases. Most customers expect cold air from these evaporative coolers and are very disappointed at the minimum amount of cooling that these devices actually provide.

NERD NOTE: An evaporative cooler, or swamp cooler, is a cooling device that reduces air temperature by evaporating water. The evaporative cooling process absorbs heat and can cool hot dry air using less energy than refrigeration.

Get Polaire’s Marketing Is Full Of Typos

Both the GetPoliare website and promotional videos for the Polaire air conditioner are full of embarrassing typos and spelling mistakes. This is usually a good indicator that scammers from another country and NOT a legitimate company created a website. Here are just some of the typos that we found in Polaire’s marketing materials.

  • built (build)
  • cooldown (cool down)
  • humidifyes (humidified)
  • leightweight (lightweight)
  • powerfull (powerful)
  • purfies (purifies) air
  • wisper (whisper)

Get Polaire’s Website Is Full Of Grammatical Errors

Polaire Website Typos - Polaire'S Marketing Is Full Of Typos
Get Polaire’s Marketing Is Full Of Typos

Just try reading the awkward phrasing on the GetPolaire website. Every sentence is an English teacher’s worst nightmare. The GetPolaire web team most likely used language translators for the site’s content. Here are just a few examples.

  • “Polaire use our own patented innovative EvaBreeze® material in our cartridges”
  • “Polaire personal evaporative air coolers’ working principle is an evaporative one“
  • The fan brings that moisturized and cooled air to you making it feel like a nice breeze”

Most Of The Get Polaire Reviews Posted Online Are Fake

The team at Polaire has obviously seen the negative reviews online from disappointed customers. To help water down these voices, Polaire started flooding the Internet with fake reviews praising the Polaire. These are not legitimate reviews. They are all almost exactly the same and were posted on cheap websites with no domain authority.

Search YouTube for real people that you can see on screen giving real reviews for devices like Polaire and Arctic Air. You’ll find a lot of disappointed people who thought that they were buying a portable air conditioning unit and instead bought a piece of crap. And if you see a Polaire review that never points out any flaws, then it’s probably just paid placement or a piece of sponsored content.

Polaire Sucks: Don’t Get Caught Up In The Get Polaire Scam

Ice Fan - A Cheap Alternative To Air Conditioning

Being uncomfortably hot is no fun. If you don’t have access to air conditioning, or it’s not an affordable option for you, then just use a fan. Don’t waste your money on this Get Polaire scam. The Polaire air conditioner sucks. It’s a piece of crap that is not a real alternative to air conditioning. If you want the same effect for less money, just put a bowl of ice water in front of a fan. It’s a cheap alternative to air conditioning and a DIY personal cooling device that anyone can make themselves.

The Polaire AC is NOT a legitimate alternative to air conditioning. It is NOT a portable air conditioning unit. The Polair air conditioner is just an internet scam.

I got suckered into buying this “piece of crap” due to their marketing machine and a couple of “paid off” endorsements on social media. Please keep in mind that it is the same piece of plastic useless gadget with various new labels on it including “Polaire”, “Arctic” etc. So, let me share my experience with you.

I ordered this unit from their website and it took over 45 days for them to even tell me that the unit was stuck at some border in Canada as it originated from China, they claimed it was due to Covid-19 which I accepted. After another 10 days, I told them that I was no longer interested in the unit as they could not provide me with estimate of delivery time, so, their customer service agreed to refund me. Their customer service was managed by 2 people in some part of the world who have no idea of what customer service is and kept leading me on for another 3 weeks…but never refunded my credit card!! The unit finally arrived about close to 70 days after the order was placed even though I had cancelled my order…

Now, description of the so called product, this seems to have been put together as a science experiment by Grade 8 students. It does not work, there is no technology inside besides some pieces of plastics glued together and flashing lights.

Please do not buy this crap and encourage these type of companies to exist and scam more people. Btw, I ended up paying over $120 CDN for this piece of plastic which is probably worth $3 CDN.

    Very unsatisfied Customer

DO NOT BUY THIS !!!!! I purchased 2 of them. They came all beat up in its original box with no protection from shipping. They leaked all over the place and never blew out cold air. It made the room humid. I tried to find a customer service number and of course there was not one but they had an email. I emailed them several times to return it because the website said to email to find out how to return. No response. I finally emailed PayPal about it but now after a 3 month dispute I can return it but back to China for a large sum of money. Very large scam going on!!!

I have bad experiences with Polaire. I ordered 2 Air Coolers. They came after three weeks. One of them worked, but the quality is really not that good- you can read others posts on this: 5 Reasons Why The Polaire Air Conditioner Is An Internet Scam and those comments below. My other one did not work at all at one time. I wrote to ask for a refund. Initially, there was no fast response or just computer generated replies. After some minor threats, I was offered a refund if I sent the product to China! My mathematics tells me that it is crazy to do as the airmail is not worth the 56 SGD I paid. After a few correspondence on that issue, I gave up. Although they maintain they are following the terms and conditions, the fine prints definitely does not allow a real refund unless you live in China- that is assuming you will get the refund at all.
Another info: I bought the Polaire for 56SGD, but the package sent to me mentioned only 15USD! You may find some good feedbacks, but my son who is knowledgeable in on-line marketing says that Polaire probably pay people to give good comments, so beware not to be sucked into this

    to CSC
I would prefer a full refund. You should have the card information to which I purchased it with. Please refund that card.
I will be checking the card periodically to see the status of the refund.
    Thank you,
    Gordon
P.S. If you could send me a postage paid plastic envelope with which it came in would be beneficial as well.

Has anyone managed to get a refund? I’m about to send mine back paying another £15. for that but don’t want to throw any more money away. The product is shockingly bad!

Yup. That’s about it. It feels cool initially because of evaporation but the humidity in the room will increase and pretty soon you’ll feel just as hot as before. Total scam.

They delivered 2 units to me, supposed to be 3. The first one worked but leaked water like crazy, the tank was broken, the second one worked and did not leak but it was very noisy when turned on, you can hear it from the next room. The third unit never arrived. I’ve emailed them about return and refund, no answer so far. And no, it’s not cooling at all. I live in warm tropical climate, so this is useless.
