In the scene when The Goonies start banging on the underground water pipes, they cause a lot of chaos at Troy’s dad’s Country Club. This gives the Walsh family enough money to prevent their neighborhood from being demolished for the country club. Mr. Walsh then tears up the foreclosure papers and One-Eyed WIlly’s pirate ship sails off into the distance. However, this isn’t the ending that was written in the script.
